What's your return policy?
 Shipment
When items are sent to the buyer, they will be
insured for the full purchase price. Shipping is done via United States Postal Service. No items will be shipped to a Post Office Box. The buyer is responsible for the shipping charges between Fur Outlet and the buyer.

Please Note: We do not guarantee delivery by a specified date. We’ll do our best to work with you and deliver items if you need them by a specific date, but please do not rely on this unless we explicitly guarantee the delivery.

All items that are shipped to Fur Outlet – whether a return, garment for alteration/storage, or otherwise – must be fully insured and traceable. Most major carriers provide some kind of tracking mechanism – check with your carrier of choice for details. If you intend to use the United States Postal Service, please request “Delivery Confirmation”.

Fur Outlet will not be held accountable in any way, shape, or form for items that are lost or damaged during shipment. All items must be sent to us via an insured, traceable method for this reason (see previous paragraph).

The customer is responsible for all shipping/handling charges between Fur Outlet and the customer, unless specifically stated otherwise. This includes sales, returns, exchanges, and all other transactions involving shipment, unless otherwise stated.

 Inspection Period

The buyer will have one day to inspect their purchase. Package tracking will be used to determine the date the item was received (see “shipment”). If a return or exchange is to be made, it must be shipped back to us within this one day inspection period. (We don’t need to have the package in our hands within one day, but there must be clear evidence that it was shipped back within that timeframe.)

 Returns

All returns must be shipped back to Fur Outlet within the inspection period. If the product is received as sent, in “new” condition, a store credit will be issued. If the product is damaged in any way unrelated to shipment, the buyer will be obligated to pay for repairs or to purchase the item.

All returns must be insured during shipping for the full purchase price of the item – if the item is not insured, a 15% penalty charge may be deducted from the original payment. This is to protect against loss or damage of the item during transit. Returns which are shipped back to Fur Outlet without a tracking number and/or delivery confirmation will be refused and returned to the customer at their expense. (We need to be able to verify the time elapsed from original delivery to time of return shipment in order to process refunds, credits, or exchanges.

The customer is responsible for all shipping/handing charges between Fur Outlet and the customer. That is, when items are returned or exchanged, the customer is responsible for the shipping/handling charges involved with the return of the item, or the shipment of a replacement item.

All returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

All sale items must be paid in full, option for layaway for items on sale is not available.

Garments with an applied monogram are returnable for store credit only. Additionally, there is a $150 alteration fee charged for the installation of a new lining (necessary to remove the monogram).

Custom-made garments are not returnable, as custom work is tailored to one specific individual. We do not offer refunds or exchanges for custom made garments. All custom-made garments are manufactured to the measurements provided by the customer – if the garment does not fit as expected, the customer will be responsible for the cost of alterations. (Instructions for taking accurate measurements are available here.)

Items in our discontinued or “close out” category can be exchanged or returned for store credit only. We do not offer refunds on these items.

Store credits are valid for one year from date of issue; if they are not used within one year, they will expire.

Escrow also know as Vintage Items: Vintage is a Pre-Owned Or Estate Piece One Of a kind, From Our Fur Collections “Sold as Is”. In addition, Escrow items are pre-owned, vintage, estate or used items, one of a kind. We act as a “middle man” in escrow transactions to protect both the buyer and seller. Our policy regarding escrow returns can be found here.

Vintage items can only be purchased by paying via a U.S.P.S Money Order Only. No exceptions.

Special Sale Items: Special sales, made available through our mailing list, print material, coupons, or other means, may be subject to their own terms and conditions. See sale information for details.

 Auction Items

Items offered for sale via online auctions fall into two categories: discontinued and “close out” items, and promotional items.

Unfortunately, we do not accept returns for these items. All auction sales are final. Please keep this in mind while bidding, and contact us before placing a bid if you have any questions. Above all, we want you to be happy with your purchase, so please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns.

Your bid on an auction item is a contract. Place a bid only if you’re serious about purchasing the item. If you are a winning bidder, you will enter into a legally binding contract to purchase the item.

How do I take my own measurements?

This is more complicated than you probably think it is, if you want the garment to fit comfortably and look good. Taking the time to read these instructions may end up saving you time and money. If you can, you may want to print them for reference.

 How To Measure

• Don’t let anyone measure themselves! It’s too easy to make a mistake, especially when measuring hard to reach places.

• Never simply ask an individual what size they wear. Fur sizing doesn’t necessarily relate to standard “retail” sizes, and most people will give you their “best” retail size when asked. (Or they may guess at it, or even tell you what they wish their size was!)

• Don’t let them “suck it in”! If they do, they’ll pay for it later with a fit that’s probably too snug. Just have them stand erect and relaxed.

• Have them wear the actual shoes that will be worn with the coat. With full length coats, the style and type of shoe will affect the coat length. Keep this in mind when measuring. We don’t want coats to drag the floor or be cut too short.

• Order a larger size if measurements fall between two sizes.

 Measuring Women

Sleeve Length: Standing in front of her, have her hold one arm chest high and parallel to the ground. Have her bend at the elbow and touch her nose. Measure from the bottom center of the neck (the round bone at the top of the spine), down the arm, across the elbow to the far end of the wrist bone. The number of inches shown is the sleeve length.

Chest / Bust: Standing to her side, slide the measuring tape up under her arms, holding the tape firmly. Measure around her body, across her shoulder blades and the fullest part of her bust. For an accurate measurement, she should keep her arms to her sides as much as possible. The number of inches shown is her chest / bust measurement.

Crossback: Standing behind her, measure across the fullest part of her shoulders – – from edge to edge. The number of inches shown is the “crossback” measurement. Please note: crossback is measured across the back, from the edge of one shoulder, to the edge of the other – not all the way around the body! This usually varies from 14″ to 20″.

Waist: Standing to her side, measure around her natural waistline. The number of inches measured is her waist size.

Seat (Hips): Standing to her side, measure around the fullest part of her hips. Start seven to eight inches below the natural waistline. If the tape can be easily moved up and down, it’s around the fullest part. The number of inches read is her hip or “seat” measurement.

Length: Standing behind her, have her stand with both feet on the ground, legs straight and slightly apart. Have her hold one end of the measuring tape to the base of her neck (the round bone at the top of the spine.) Straighten the tape down her back and to the top of her shoe. The number of inches shown is her length. Remember – this measurement will be more accurate if she is wearing the actual shoes she will wear with the garment. For example, high heels.

If you’re measuring for a jacket, measure from the base of the neck to the desired length – – the waistline, generally.
